Can you describe your early labour in 3 words?

your early labour

3 words…Pregnancy, birth and parenting are so individual and I would like to collect as much feedback as possible – which can be shared anonymously – to normalise the differences to other expectant and new parents.

I have three children and each labour started spontaneously before I reached my due date. I am someone who has long early labours – I can niggle on for days before my baby and my body is ready for labour and birth. All of my babies have been back to back and my early labour has been about moving them into a better position. During each early labour it felt right to just wander and rest, even though I just wanted my body to just get on with it!

It is important to remember that there is no right length of labour – if it is long, it could be because your baby needs the time.

  1. Excited, unknown, frustrated
  2. Long, tired, impatient
  3. Longest, intermittent, breathe

What 3 words would you use to describe your early labour?

With a calm and knowledgeable approach, my aim is informed and confident parents.

An experienced specialist in pregnancy, birth & early parenting, I have worked with parents since 2002. I am based in the North East so I regularly work with parents from Newcastle, Northumberland, Gateshead and across North Tyneside. Face-to-face sessions will continue with North East parents but digital courses and online sessions means I can work with parents everywhere.
