This induction workshop features as part of the free range of Labour & Birth Workshops available as part of Mother Cuppa Magazine. These workshops focus on providing you with a foundation of knowledge about labour, birth, what might help, what might not, your options, questions to ask and what you can do.
This is your induction workshop to focus on essential information which could make a difference to you during the induction of your labour.
When being induced, using positions and movement can be really important for your comfort, to enable you to work with your contractions and to help your body do what it needs to do.
If your labour starts with the pessary, you could have the full range of options available to you, including using the birthing pool. Ask questions, so you know what your options are. If your options are more limited you will still be able to use some movement and have some gravity. But remember, being induced doesn’t mean you have to stay on the bed.
Some of these positions will be relevant to you and looking at different ways to move around and rest is always worth considering.
As you go through this induction workshop, make notes, jot down your questions and you can start to develop your action plan.
