Reasons to book a 1:1 session

After working with groups of parents, there was a demand for 1:1 sessions from parents who wanted private sessions. Parents now book appointments with me to focus on a range of parenting and personal challenges…

  • pregnancy sessions & birth debrief
  • birth preparation
  • new babies/new parents
  • bedtime & sleep for babies and children
  • going back to work after maternity leave
  • loss of identity
  • work/life balance
  • being a parent & parenting challenges
  • meeting the needs of more than one child
  • feeling overwhelmed as a parent
  • spending time together as a couple
  • being a grandparent
  • changing relationships with friends and family

The benefits…

These sessions are focused on you, so they are tailored to your need for information, reassurance and coping strategies for you and for your family.

These sessions are not counselling, they are not about shoulds or being told what to do, they are about having the time to share, offload and focus on the issues you are finding challenging.

You can develop plans and coping strategies to manage these challenges.

You can focus on practical issues such as birth preparation, sleep, anxiety & stress, baby and child behaviour as well as personal issues such loss of identity, issues around being a mum, the challenges of juggling responsibilities and making decisions for you and for your family.

family newcastle and tynesideAbout me…

As an experienced antenatal teacher and postnatal group leader, I have worked with parents since 2002 with groups and 1:1 sessions. Two years ago I trained as a coach to be able to work with parents beyond the postnatal period – it is important to me to be able to provide on-going support for parents as children grow and the challenges shift.
