Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters and each one lasts for around 3 months.
- The first trimester is the first 12 weeks
- The second trimester is between 13-27 weeks
- The third trimester is from 28 weeks
You may have also heard about the 4th trimester, which has been used to describe the first 3 months with your baby. It can be seen as an extension to pregnancy, when many new babies need to feel like they are still in the womb, as they gently adjust to being born.
